I got a treat yesterday: a sneak peek presentation of the blueprints for the Center for Civil and Human Rights (with a cameo by the distinguished Vernon Jordan, who co-chairs the Center’s board). They’re breaking ground for the building next week with plans for completion in two years — so plan your Atlanta visits accordingly!
Aside: In human rights time, two years is nothing. Consider this exchange from yesterday.
ME: My father is about your age, and also from Atlanta — specifically, East Point.
VERNON JORDAN: I wasn’t allowed in East Point.
End scene.
Anyway, here is your sneak peek at the Center’s mission.
To continue the universal search for a secure human existence in a way that inspires vigilance and leadership among future generations.
Holla. Visit the Center’s website here.
